YHA New Zealand operates a network of hostels that welcome travellers from around the world. The Aoraki Mt Cook location, set against the backdrop of New Zealand’s highest peak, partnered with Sunshine Solar to demonstrate that sustainable tourism and spectacular natural settings go hand in hand.

Hospitality facilities face unique energy challenges, requiring power for guest comfort, kitchen facilities, and common areas throughout the day and evening. The solar installation helps offset these demands during peak sunlight hours while reinforcing YHA’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
